FAQ Answers


1. How do I change my Memo and Directory Passwords?
  Your Memo and Directory password are one in the same.
The Pat Tool web page is where users go to change their password. In the Select site feild you need to choose Scottsdale College. In the user name field you need to type in your first and last name as you appear in the Maricopa Directory (address Book). If you are unsure of how you appear please click on Communicator, Address Book and then on the left side of the screen, Click on the Maricopa Directory, type in your last name. It should then bring up all the people whose last names are the same as yours. Find your name and double click on it. The name field is exactly how you are listed in the directory. This is how you need to enter it on the pat tool site. In the password field you need to enter your MEMO password, if you are a first time users then your password will be the last four of your Social Security Number. Once in PAT, click on the Edit Directory Information link on the left side of the page. On the right side of the page, scroll down and enter your new password in both password fields that appear. Make sure that the Syncronize Email Password with this change ? checkbox is checked. Click on the Submit button. After this is complete, don't forget to log out of the PAT tool.

2. How do I set up an Auto reply or Vacation Message in MEMO?
  To set up an Auto reply or Vacation Message in MEMO.

If you are unable to check our messages in MEMO, then the best thing to do is set your MEMO account to Autpo reply, to let the reciepents know that you are unavaiable.

To set the options up for this you need to go to the PAT TOOL See FAQ # 1. Once in the PAT you need to Click on the Messaging Options button on the left side of the screen.

In the Autoreply text box, type in your message.

Clicking the Update Autoreply text and options button will return your message to anyone that sends you an email.

If you would like the sender's message returned with a copy of your message, check the box Return contents with auotreply message.

To disable these options once you return, click on the button that says, "Disable all Autoreply Options," and remove current text.

3. How can I get an email account for my new employee?
  Fill out and submit the online "NEW EMPLOYEE COMPUTER ACCOUNT REQUEST" form.

The form is available on SCC's Employee Email and Calendar Systems web page. Select the New MEMO (e-mail) Account Request option and submit.
 

4. How can I filter incoming MEMO messages?
  Instructions for filtering MEMO messages are available online through Districts Training Services.

Netscape Mail instructions are found on p. 69 - 72 of the Netscape Messenger manual.

Webmail instructions are also available online.
 

5. How can I stop junk mail from filling up my MEMO inbox?
  Many times the sender will include a statement on how to be removed from the mailing list. Follow the steps provided.

Another method is to filter the messages to the Trash. See FAQ #4 above.
 

6. How can I access my email from home?
  Use WebMail.

From your browser, go to the SCC Employee Email and Calendar Systems web page. Select the MEMO E-Mail Web Page Access (WebMail) link. Type in your fname.lname (leaving the @sccmail.maricopa.edu). Type in your password and click on Login.

7. How do I find out someone's email address or phone number?
  There are several ways.

1. If you have a SCC MEMO account set up in Netscape, use the available search feature found in the Address Book. First, make sure you are in Netscape Messenger. Select Address Book from the Communicator Menu. Click on the Maricopa Directory from the directories listed. Enter your search criteria in the "Show names containing:" box. Click <enter> or <return> to execute. All available matches will appear. For additional information about the person, double click on the name and it will display in a browser window.

2. You can also search the ldap directory online at: http://www.dist.maricopa.edu/its/webdial/
